The Job : Communications Officer

The role holder will be responsible for raising Christian Aid’s profile through effective content management in Christian Aid’s humanitarian response programme. The role holder will provide technical support to staff and partners involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions in all areas of Christian Aid’s work in the North East. The role holder will identify and share the best stories, case studies that show how Christian Aid Nigeria and partners are changing lives those affected by insurgency through its programmes. The role holder will write, edit and commission a varied mix of content including case studies, interviews, blogs, photos and films in line with CA’s communication guideline and strategy for dissemination to show the value and impact of the Programmes.
You are required to have a first degree in Mass Communication or related field. A Masters degree will be an added advantage. You are required to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, implementing and evaluating communications interventions within development approaches. You are required to have experience of developing and delivering effective project communications strategies and plans. Knowledge of fundraising communications and an understanding of major donor audiences and the issues they relate to is required. Good knowledge of the international development sector, its issues and challenges is essential
